Can I attach extra lenses to my camcorder?
I have a Canon LEGRIA HF R106 camcorder with a fixed lens. I really want to be able to add lenses but on inspection it looks like there is no way for the camera to support extra lenses. Is there something I can buy to attach to the camera or something I can make myself? Do I just need to have the lens in front of the main camera lens or does it have to be setup in a special way?

Doesn't look like the camera will accept extra lenses. I can't tell from the Canon support site if it even has a filter ring (it'll look like a threaded ring in front of the lens) and without that then there's no way to even attach a similarly sized lens anyway.
Without a specific add-on bit, the auto-focus and auto-white balance and so on wouldn't work anyway, as the lenses need to be able to "talk" electronically to the camera's management systems.
Mostly, camcorders that can handle intechangable lenses start around the £1,500 mark and go up from there.
Looks like you're out of luck.
