Shopping eBay Germany from the US (for vintage cameras, lenses, accessories)?
Someone has suggested to me that I can find more variety and great deals on the vintage photographic equipment I collect and use by shopping eBay Germany rather than searching US sites and stores for Zeiss, Rollei, Leica, etc. However it's all in Euros so do I need to exchange money somehow or if I use my credit card will it automatically convert? And what about shipping - can some things not be shipped internationally? Thanks!
Also if you have a link to an online Euro-Dollar calculator that would be helpful. I have no idea what the Euro is going for on the dollar atm.
If you use a credit or debit card currencies get converted automatically.
If items can't be shipped mostly because of custom regulations it will say so in the terms of the site.
Be aware you might get charged by US customs in addition to the price you pay on German E bay
Before you buy check out if there is no fee from customs on their site.
You can convert most currencies on here, not just Euros and US $ not sure if you get the rate the banks use so there might be some difference.
Usually if you go to the site of your bank you find the rates this bank is using it varies every day.
