How do you bake flan in a water bath?
I heard that flan turns out smoother if baked in water bath, but I don't know how to do that. Can anyone explain it simply to a beginner cook? Do you know if it would improve the flan vs. baking it without a water bath covered in tin foil?
You put the flan into its own pan, and then set that pan into a larger pan that is deep enough to hold water up around the pan of flan. You might want to put them into the oven first, and then add the water to the outer pan. It definitely improves the texture of the flan, keeping the eggs from becoming rubbery!
