wireing a 115 volt, 1 phase, 1/4 Hp 3 spd, electric motor with 5 wires, brown/white/red/black/blue?
Emerson motor Model: K55HXJFN-2836 1/4 hp, 115 volt 60 hz, 5.9 amp, 1 phase, 1075 rpm, 3spd, 370 vac capacitor, part# 024-23219C, MFG# H89C. The wireing at the motor is in this order looking at the back, wires up, clock wise (left to right), white from motor to capacitor to ??, brown from motor to capacitor.. red to ??, blue to ??, black to ??. The question marks are my delema. Can I connect the white to common and the red, blue and black to Line? 3 speed switch? one at a time or all together, I can't seem to get to a diagram online because the motor is about 15-20 years old. HELP
This sounds like a blower motor for a furnace. And if it is, it should be something like this: The speeds are already set by the windings in the motor. Black is hi, blue is medium, and red is low. Hook up what you want for how ever fast you need it to run and tape off the others. White is your hot wire and capacitor feed. Brown also goes to the capacitor. The "speed wires" black, blue, and red act as the neutral. Good luck.
