How do you install a pump and filter for an outdoor garden?
For about a 500 gallon pond, how would you install the pump and filter? Do you need electricity to connect the pump to? Thanks!! Links are good too!
you can get a smaller pump at like harbor freight that would suffice. As for a filter, most of the pumps are macerating and can handle a little trash. Yes, you will need power (110VAC) to the pump. If you intend to make it permanent, put the wire in PVC conduit. Keep the plug and or any wire ends/connections at least a couple inches off the ground to prevent grounding when wet. There are weather tight plastic J boxes that work great for this.
If the pump you find/get is not submersible, cover it with something to keep it out of the weather. There are many good submersible pumps that would suit your needs however.
