How to select appropriate compound reverted gear train to deliver power?
For example, i need to deliver 15kW. What is the condition and rules can i use to deliver the same amount of power from input gears to output gears?
power = torque * angular velocity
The power is conserved. Typically 2% loss for each stage of gears.
First, determine how fast the output needs to turn, and the torque to turn it. Multiply the torque * angular velocity to get power ouput. Now, divide the output angular velocity by the input angular velocity to get gear ratio.
Select gears with the torque and velocity or speed/power rating you need to get the gear ratio you need. The torque will take care of itself if you have adequate input power.
Why do you require a reverted gear train?
