While traveling, what is the best way to empty my photo memory card in order to take more photos?
I am going to Europe, and have two 2 GB CF cards. I was lent a Nikon Coolwalker, which is a 30 GB hard drive with a screen and a CF port that allows you to backup your images.
I am going to be shooting on a D200 in RAW format, which means that I can get 120 images on a 2 GB card, which means I can fit 1800 images onto the Coolwalker.
I plan on shooting everyday (for 16 days), so 1800 will not suffice.
What method would you suggest?
it pretty much has to be an internet solution because I don't have a laptop.
Photobucket doesn't do RAW, and I don't know what yahoo photos is... flickr?
probably a card or two per day
I am thinking internet cafes will be my only hope.
You can do several things...
1. Use something like Yahoo, Google, Photobucket, Flickr, Snapfish, or another photo storage website.
2. Buy several memory cards (with such a good camera, it is common for people to have multiple cards). They sell 4GB and higher now.
3. Bring a laptop and store them on it.
4. If you have access to a computer, burn them onto a CD
5. Buy an external hard drive (they are pretty small now!(pocketsize!) and can also be used for backing up pictures, music, documents, or anything on your computer.

6. Get a photo storage device. Put your memory card in it, it copies them all to a portable device and then you can clear it off and take more pictures. When you are ready to transfer all of the pictures, hook it up to the computer using the USB cable and transfer (just like a camera).

Personally, #5 will be pretty easy, but #6 will be the easiest and fastest!
