how much of a change would i get with a stage 1 tune?
I have a 2004 saab 9-5 linear sportwagon. It has the BHP of 185 and the quarter mile of 15.6 seconds. The 0-60 time is currently about 7.8 seconds. I want to do a stage 1 tune on the car, using a BSR tuning computer, and likely use K&N parts for the intake. I will have about +44 more horsepower putting me at around 230hp. What differences in numbers will i see? will there be a much bigger kick off the line? will i be burning out? Will my car seem much different? I want to know as much as possible! thank you!
Just get the 9-5 Aero engine computer, fuel injectors, and turbo.
For cross reference the turbo you want is Mitsubishi TD04HL-15T Turbo. The engine management computer needed is one from a 2002 and newer 9-5 AERO. Both can be found on ebay.
This set up will add approx 50-60 HP installed. Invest in a 2.75 diameter exhaust and cold air intake and this will put HP around 245.
The only problem is you will need to find someone with a Tech 2 scan tool to marry the new computer with the car. This has to do with the immobilizer security feature. The car WILL NOT START without doing this.
You would have to do the tech 2 thing even with a aftermarket "tuning" computer.
