is Horizontal laminar flow cabinet meant for routine microbiological work ?
Yup it is,when i had hands on training at medical colleges and hospitals,we were posted at different departments,and the department of microbiology did use laminar air flow cabinet for running all kind of tests and even other tests/experiments that required aseptics conditions.Also,other than that,for isolation of microbial colonies or for other routine microbial techniques,it is commonly used because it provides the aseptic conditions easily.
Sometimes,when the laminar air flow cabinet aren't available,they use the old method of performing the experiment between two burners,in the area between the two burners,because it acts as an aseptic technique.
