Does anybody have any experience with Hemochron 6000 whole blood coagulation analyzer for ACT test?
My company has this very old Hemochron 6000 model-- whole blood coagulation analyzer made by International Technidyne Corp. I couldn't find the user manual. So far I heard it can measure ACT test, use 2ml of blood but wonder if it can also do PTT and PT. What kind of test tubes should I use and where can I buy them. I contacted the manufacturer and they don't have the user manual anymore so any operational instruction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
wow, good luck! I think you may need to search LONG and hard for that manual. my suggestion tho, call local blood banks, hospital labs and any university med schools/teaching hospitals.. see if they have an old one, as it was a common instrument.
I am not sure about what test tubes to use as I have never seen this instrument, but im guessing some sort of small cuvette... take a picture of the loading area, where the test tubes are placed, and add it as an image to this question, Id be happy to look at it any maybe see if I can figure it out.
I work on all sorts of analytical instruments for a living, and tho I have more experience on coulter multisizers, HPLCs and GC/MSs, I find centrifuges and blood analyzers interesting. Lemme know, email me if you want. Vincent_PeterJ@yahoo.com
