Problem with my new digital camera?
I'm really ticked off because I have a digital camera that I got around Christmas time that I have only used a few times and now it's acting up. The camera I have is a DXG-538 camera from the DXG digital camera company. When I slide the little cover over which turns the camera on and uncovers the lens. The camera shutter opens for a second and then closes and stays closed leaving me with no ability to take photos. The shutter will not open and all I see is a blank screen on my camera. Please help me I'm leaving to the air force soon and would like to capture some moments with my buddies on my camera.
Can't say I have ever heard of that brand before, so I would be a little skeptical of it's build quality etc.
However, the first thing you should make sure is whether the battery is fully charged.
If it has an inbuilt lithium battery, give it a full charge.
If it uses AA sized batteries, then maybe try Energizer e2 Lithium batteries. They are fairly expensive, but will provide you with enough power for about 500 shots (depending on the camera and usage).
Or you can use rechargeable NiMH (2500-2700mAh). These type of batteries will discharge at the rate of approx. 1/2-1% per day when not used, so always make sure you charge them at least a day before you intend to use them.
Never, ever use ordinary alkaline batteries which are useless in a digital camera.
If you have made sure that your batteries are fully charged, and still have a problem, then your best option is to return the camera (which will still be under warranty).
good luck...
