Opinion on Pearl Sound Check 5-Piece Drum Set with Zildjian Cymbals?
i was wondering if this is a good kit, i havnt been playing long so i dont want to get some super expensive kit, but i also dont want a crapy kit that i will hate to play. i would prefer a kit good for metalcore/screamo type music so any seggestions on another good kit would be appreciated. kit specifications are
22" x 16" kick drum
10" x 9" and 12" x 10" toms
16" x 16" floor tom
14" x 5-1/2" wood snare
2 tom holders
Zildjian ZBT cymbals: 13" hi-hats, 18" crash/ride, and free 14" crash cymbals
Includes the Sound Percussion hardware pack:
One chain-drive bass drum pedal

Just about ANY drum set can be made to sound quite good with the proper heads and tuning. Tuning being the operative. As far as the Pearl Sound Check drums and the Zildjian cymbal pack goes, nothing wrong with that setup at all. No, none of it is top-of-the-line gear, but it's perfectly good gear for the price.
As a beginner you really need to find somebody who knows how to tune drums to show YOU how to do it. And don't be afraid to play around with the tuning so that you can learn what happens when you do a certain thing.
