can you run an air cooled snowmobile engine in the summer?
I have an arctic cat cheetah 440 and i want to take the engine out to put it in a project i am working on. the engine is air cooled, and i need to know if its safe to run this thing in the summer. thanks.
You left out some important information. Does the snowmobile motor have a blower housing or is it a free-air type? If it does have a tin shield around a forced air blower/ fly-wheel it could be used in moving or stationary jobs. If it's a free-air motor with open cooling fin cylinder jugs the motor would have to move much like a motor cycle does to keep the pistons and rings from melting in the exhaust ports.
